Power and Strength Production History
Gayle Schroeder has been actively promoting and directing Powerlifting and Strongman Competitions in Tidewater Virginia since 1996 with The Iron Movers Push/Pull Classic and The USPF Virginia State Powerlifting & Bench Press Championship, which was typically held in the early spring in Chincoteague, Virginia. The East Coast Strongman Championship dates back to September of 1999 and The Azalea Festival Strongman Challenge, as of April 2000. In August of 2002 we included the Virginias Strongest Man to our calendar of events.
In 2004, Power and Strength Productions, LLC, held the 5th Annual Azalea Festival Strongman. In this meet 1 heavy weight and 1 light weight earned their pro cards. Also in 2004 we held our first APF sanctioned Virginia State Powerlifting and Bench Press.
Strongman Competitions have grown in numbers since the 1980s. Back in the 1980's in the State of Virginia, the number of meets available were less than 1 per year and very few people were aware of the sport. Since 1999, Power and Strength Productions has held at least 3 to 4 Strongman competitions and 1 to 2 Powerlifting Meets per year in the Tidewater Area of Virginia..
Currently Power and Strength Productions is teaming up with the new force on the block: Brute Strength Gym, Norfolk, Virginia.. We are looking forward to promoting many top quality Strongman and Powerlifting Competitions. NEWS Top
